…banning 5 chemicals under its “emergency scheduling authority.” The ban took effect Dec 24 after being announced 30 days prior on Nov 24th.
So now we have 5 new chemicals, “JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-200, CP-47,497, and cannabicyclohexanol used to make “fake pot” products,” to add to the ever expanding (unconstitutional) War on Drugs. You know all about the Big Fake Pot Crisis of 2010 of course, right?? Something had to be done. No time to get a law through Congress, no time for the (unconstitutional) DEA to do the research, then ban the chemicals. No, no time for that, we had a crisis on our hands, a real emergency with all those fake pot overdoses all over the news this past year, all those home invasions, muggings, and carjackings perpetrated by fake pot addicts desperate for their next fix. I’m sure all the news shows’ “year in review” spiels are going to feature a lot of material on the Fake Pot Crisis of 2010, seeing as it was such an “emergency.”
Yeah. Sounds about right. Here we go again.
Unsurprising White House commentary here.
And all of this just happened like that, without any new law being passed in Congress, mind you. You see, “an amendment to the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984 to the Controlled Substances Act, gives the DEA authority to emergency schedule an “abused, harmful, non-medical substance in order to avoid imminent public health crisis while the formal rule-making procedures described in the CSA are being conducted.”
What are they using to justify this again? The commerce clause? The general welfare clause? It doesn’t matter. We’re not living under the rule of law and the Constitution anymore anyway. The federal government, as we just saw yet again, can simply jump in and say, “that’s illegal now.” And you will submit. And most of you aren’t even willing to engage in armed protest against it……..even in situations where the government allows you to engage in such protest. Sad. Truly sad.
If the federal government can just jump in and declare the mere possession of a substance illegal, what can’t it do?
Some may say “I don’t smoke fake pot, so why is this such a big deal?” And some may say “I buy health insurance anyway, so what if the government mandates it?” That’s the spirit there: just keep doing what you’re doing, so long as its in the mainstream. Don’t get out of line. Don’t do anything out of the ordinary. Keep on being a Grey Man or wearing the “mask of the suit monkey.” Don’t make too much noise, and they’ll leave you alone. Don’t put stickers on your car. Don’t engage in armed but lawful protest. And whatever you do, don’t engage in acts of disobedience or resistance. Always follow the law. Submit.
Just submit. You know you’re going to, right?
