for those of you who may be in, or plan to go to, “iffy” open carry areas to protest, there’s a tool out there that allows you to upload video to the internet almost live (there’s a 7 second delay). the organizer for the Philly End The Fed rally mentioned it so i decided to check it out. i got it as an app for the iphone, but there are a bunch of phones supported. the website is qik.com, and it’s pretty easy to set up. you can link it to facebook, myspace, youtube, blogger and a bunch of other networking sites in addition to being able to direct people to your page on the qik site and embedding the live feed into a post on a forum. i’ve used it already to put up a short video of my desk and was able to view it in several places at once.
I might want to make one of these my next gun accessory purchase. It sounds like a very useful tool for anyone who is either currently participating in open carry activism or for anyone who wants to be ready to use their weapons in a political setting “just in case.”
