Your government hard at work

Doesn’t it just fill you with pride to know that your State Department cares so much about people in Bolivia chewing coca leaves?

“The countries support us so that we can de-penalize (coca chewing); the only one opposing us is the United States,” said Leonilda Zurita, a coca grower and a leader of the ruling Movement Toward Socialism party.

So our government is trying to tell citizens of Bolivia that they can’t chew a certain kind of leaf.  Thousands of miles away from our borders, on another continent, someone is chewing leaves and our government spends who knows how many taxpayer dollars to pay someone several people to make a case at the UN against it……….against leaf chewing.  In Bolivia.

Really?  Are you serious?
